BluBet.com

Filed under: Uncategorized — rafefurst @ 9:20 pm

There are a number of play money prediction market sites, as Tech Crunch points out. But BluBet.com seems like a very well done implementation. Are there better ones out there for general topics or a wide range of topics?

Relatedly, there’s a Facebook app called iPredict which is cool in that it’s integrated into your existing network, but lame in that there’s not a lot of thought about the interface or marketing and so the most common prediction is “I will get lucky this weekend”.

Prediction: BluBet will come out with a Facebook app to interface with their site.

  1. Following this post, I explored BluBet for the first time. At first I was skeptical of the value of playing for fake currency, but as soon as I registered at Blubet, I got into it. I immediately placed three bets.

The only problem is that the antes of varying magnitude confuse things when the currency is fake. I feel like the antes of varying magnitude are pretty much grouped as a single value from the perspective of the bettor. Unlike a bet with real currency, a 1,000 unit bet on Blubet is not ten times more important than a 100 unit bet.

I can’t wait for the BluBet Facebook app.

  2. Interesting site, I had not seen it yet. I did see this site that launched last week: http://www.predictify.com I actually made some money on it 🙂

  3. Should also compare it with Bragster.com.

In my opinion, Bragster is much more funny and crazy than Blubet that seems to focus only on political polls, etc. First time I went on Bragster was due to a dare from a friend… Then I was convinced by the concept. I bet you won’t dare me on bragster! Joe
